What GearLama is
GearLama is a search aggregator for cycling gear across independent Indian specialist retailers. We index publicly available product, price, and stock data from those stores and make it searchable in one place. We do not sell products, hold inventory, or process payments.
Accuracy of results
We refresh from each store on a regular crawl cycle. Prices, stock, sizes, and specifications shown on GearLama may lag the store's own website by minutes or hours, and specs at the source are occasionally wrong or miscategorised. Always verify the current price, stock, and compatibility on the retailer's own product page before purchase.
Purchases and fulfillment
Every transaction is directly between you and the independent retailer whose site you land on after clicking through. GearLama has no involvement in payment, shipping, returns, warranty, or dispute resolution, and accepts no liability for fulfillment errors, defective products, or payment disputes.
Compatibility warning
Cycling components have real compatibility constraints (drivetrain speeds, brake standards, bottom brackets, tyre sizing, etc.). Listings on GearLama reflect what the retailer publishes and are not a compatibility recommendation. If you're unsure whether a part fits your bike, check with the retailer or a professional bike mechanic before buying.
Acceptable use
Please don't scrape, crawl, or programmatically extract data from GearLama at volume — the site runs on a small budget and heavy automated traffic hurts real riders' experience. Reasonable browsing and search use is welcome and expected.
Privacy
There's no account, no login, and no signup — so most of "privacy" here is about what we don't do.
What we don't collect
We don't ask for your name, email, phone number, address, or any other personally identifiable information. There's no account system, so there's nothing to sign into and nothing tied to you across visits.
Search queries
We log the text of search queries submitted to the site so we can improve results and spot gaps in coverage. These logs are not linked to any personal identifier — we don't know who typed what.
Outbound clicks
When you click a "Buy at ..." button, we log which product you clicked and which store you were sent to. This helps us understand which listings are useful and which stores riders actually shop at. Again, not linked to anything personal.
Standard server logs
Our host records normal web-server information (IP address, user agent, request path, response time) for security, rate limiting, and debugging. These logs rotate on a short window and are not used to build profiles.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics (loaded on interaction, without advertising features) to understand aggregate traffic — page views, referrers, and rough geography. We don't run advertising trackers, don't set marketing cookies, and don't sell any data.
Affiliate links & external sites
Every product result links to a third-party Indian retailer's own site. Once you click through, you're subject to that retailer's privacy policy and cookie behaviour (most run on Shopify). Some outbound links may include affiliate tags so the retailer can attribute the click — this never changes the price you pay, and it never affects how results are ranked.
